The Pew Research Center in collaboration with The Economist Group just released new mobile device usage stats showing email as the reigning champ of activity on both tablets and smartphones. Despite the growth in ownership, diversity of devices available, and ever expanding roster of apps, email still beats news, games, social networking, video, and shopping to retain the top spot of all mobile activity.
Specifically, the study found that 61% of smartphone users send or receive email on their phone daily, and 80% do so weekly.
